Groundwater is precious in Arizona. Other than Phoenix and Tucson, most cities and towns in Arizona rely only on groundwater as their water supply. Rural and urban areas have been depleting the natural groundwater system, causing “overdraft.” Efforts to “recharge” or replenish aquifers, are insufficient to meet demand. It’s time for everyone to learn more about the importance of groundwater.
